Answers To Tough Questions (all original content)
Remember, apologetics can save no one, only Jesus Christ can. No matter how great your responses are, no matter the number arguments you can defeat, no words you say, have any power to save.
But God says "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." ~ Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)
So like the Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 1:14-17, we are "obligated both to Greeks and non-Greeks, both to the wise and the foolish. That is why" we are "so eager to preach the gospel also to you who are in Rome" and to those throughout the world. "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."
Always, always, always include the Gospel of Jesus Christ with every single response given.
Where Did God Come From?God is from everlasting to everlasting, from before the beginning and after the end, He created time, He created everything, and before anything, He was there. God is Holy, God is Righteous, God is sanctified, that means set apart. He is set apart from anything that is not perfectly righteous and holy. He is totally separated from evil, and anything that is not perfect. And He is calling us to Himself, and He has made the way for us, through His Son Jesus Christ. That whoever would repent of their sins, repent of all of their evil deeds and wickedness, and turns to God and away from themselves, and loving themselves, who turns to God, who submits to God and begs Jesus Christ for forgiveness of their sins, begs for Jesus Christ's help with their weaknesses and pray to Jesus Christ for strength, and pray to God for repentance. And comes to the foot of Cross, that God put His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to take the punishment for the sins we have committed in our hearts, mind, and with our hands, that punishment we deserve, God put's on Jesus Christ, so that whoever trusts in, and abides in His Son will be saved, because Jesus is the truth, and the life. No one goes to the Father except through Jesus Christ.
Humble yourselves, submit to Jesus Christ, repent of your sins, believe in Jesus Christ as your savior and you will be saved. That way, where He is, we will be also.
Do You Take the Bible Literally?Your problem is that you can't understand the Bible because it is only spiritually understood, and it can only be revealed through and by the Holy Spirit of God, which is done for whoever repents of their sins, turns to, believes in, and trusts in Jesus Christ alone for the forgiveness of sins and reconciliation with a Holy God.
Note to evangelist, if the above answer is not sufficient for you, Greg Koukl of Stand To Reason, has a great article here: Do You Take the Bible Literally? How to respond and also how to know if their question is intellectually honest.
